Karadeniz: "What is happening in China is not seen the same way from here"
After the panel, PLASFED President Ömer Karadeniz evaluated and delivered significant messages regarding Turkey's industrial policies through China's economic model.
Kazradeniz stated that he has been regularly visiting China on behalf of the plastic sector for many years and shared his impressions from a recent visit. "What is happening in China is not seen the same way from here," he said, adding that making accurate assessments is a prerequisite for appropriate measures.
In his speech, Karadeniz drew attention to China's production and export-oriented development model, stating, "China has been saying for years, 'Produce, export, I am behind you as a state, I will support you,' and they implement this not just verbally, but through policies."
For example, Karadeniz reminded that China has provided foreign exchange rate advantages to export firms for years, stating, "If 1 dollar is worth 6 Yuan in the domestic market, China exchanged this dollar for 7 Yuan and continued this for a long time."
Highlighting that Turkey has previously followed policies contrary to such supports, Karadeniz indicated that this observation is not a criticism, but a fact, saying, "If we are going to discuss production, exports, and strategic moves, we must first look at the right examples and evaluate the realities without distorting them and being emotional."
